Adults and children all welcome.

We practice a fairly traditional style of worship, consisting of a call to worship, prayer, responsive reading of Scripture, singing of hymns and songs ancient and modern and occasional special music performed by individuals. We us piano and guitar as accompaniment. We emphasize congregational singing and we consider preaching of the word as part of worship.

Meet the first Sunday evening at 5:00 pm every month. They plan any upcoming social events involving food put on by the church such as Back Home Hours, picnics, caroling, conferences and advent services.  

We have an all church prayer meeting the first Sunday evening of each month. This is a “family” meeting, joys and sorrows are shared. We spend the first 35 minutes sharing prayer requests and praises. The elders also use this time to brief the congregation on significant matters affecting the church body. After the period of sharing we divide into smaller groups and pray. No one is expected to pray out loud. We provide child care for children five and under.

Bring your own lunch gathering.
It is very informal and designed to be a time of fellowship.

Calling all who are interested in brain storming songs to bring to the congregation. We will be hosting a "ensemble group" on the second Sunday of every month. Our goal is to provide members with a fun, informal opportunity to practice their skills and fellowship around God-honoring music. It is open for anyone who plays an instrument or sings and who wants to be involved in specials. Beginners and children are welcome, however, minors must be accompanied by a parent. Bring an instrument and a hymn or spiritual song to share with the group! The meetings will take place 15minutes after the conclusion of the Sunday worship service, in room 1, and will last no longer than an hour. Please no food or drinks. Our PM worship service is similar to our AM service but slightly shortened. People often “hang” around longer after the service for fellowship.

SGBC’s elders meet twice a month. Pray for them!
