OUR DEACONS

Sean and his wife Megan began attending SGBC in 1997 when they were searching for a church home with solid Biblical teaching/preaching that demonstrated authentic Christian love and fellowship. The Lord has blessed their marriage with three wonderful children who have grown up at SGBC. Sean has been serving as a deacon since 1999 and has enjoyed the opportunity to teach children, high school and adult Sunday school classes. In addition, his responsibilities include working with benevolence opportunities, security, the book table and moving people over and over and over again.

God brought Joe, Margie, Leah to SGBC after listening to the AM radio program for many months. After visiting on Wednesday and Sunday services and hearing the preaching and teaching of God’s word (and the music) they knew this is where God wanted them. Joe and Margie have 5 beautiful kids and 1 grandchild. Joe enjoys playing sports, biking, racquetball, basketball, and hiking, but he really loves music. Joe loves ministering with guitar singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs and leading congregational singing. The Hernandez’ are from Phoenix, AZ, born and raised. He is very honored to serve here at SGBC.

Christian was born in Belen, New Mexico in 1968. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Finance degree and played on the golf team. After college he played professional golf for 15 years. He currently works for Ping Golf in player relations on the PGA Tour. He has been married to his wife Jodi since 1998 and they have two children. He was converted to Christ in 2002 and has been attending SGBC since 2009. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports.

Bryan joined SGBC in the summer of 2010, when he moved to Phoenix with his young family. He is married and has 3 children. Bryan has been a follower of Jesus Christ since 1992. He enjoys helping the body of Christ with teaching, music and other needs that come up.  Bryan currently serves on the board of directors of Alpha and Omega Ministries.

David and his wife Janet have been in the fellowship of SGBC since 2001.  They have 5 children and and 1 grandchild so far….Dave and Janet enjoy working with young expecting couples, helping them navigate infant and toddler management.  Dave is a small business owner and enjoys road biking, golf, and most other outdoor activities.  He teaches junior high and high school age children.  He oversees security and is active in the budgeting and bookkeeping at the church.  He also moves a lot of people.
